4-Part Community Development Series
The Challenge
Initiated by Kevin Freeney and Jochem van Bruggen, Togethering co‑founder Chris Lunney was invited to support the development of a new community called Mesh Point, aimed at galvanizing creative professionals who felt disillusioned with the city’s art, design, and events ecosystems.
The collective began with a healthy skepticism toward traditional top‑down organizational approaches, so the three collaborators explored how this community could grow horizontally and collaboratively, and needed a shared process to surface what would authentically bring this diverse group of creators together.

Our Impact
Together, Kevin, Jochem, and Chris designed and facilitated a four‑part workshop series that helped participants meet and build trust, surfaced past collaborative experiences, and clarified ideal working relationships and practical constraints.
As a group, the collaborators synthesized the workshop outputs and ongoing conversations into a comprehensive report that mapped the community’s capabilities, interests, and tensions. This shared artifact became a catalyst for ongoing events and provided a clear, co‑authored roadmap for how this group of innovators could begin working together as a cohesive, creative collective.
